Cheryl Pence passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 56, while working and traveling, some of what she loved to do the most. Cheryl loved people and helping them. In 2012, Cheryl found her ultimate passion for helping people with flood insurance claims. While she never wished bad on a single person, she was always so excited to be able to work and help people during some of the worst times of their lives.
In 2007, Cheryl met Doug, and the two fell in love. They moved to Colorado and were married in 2009. They built together a beautiful home in Rye and enjoyed having their children and especially grandchildren over to enjoy ATVs, crafts and games with them.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Doug of Rye; her children Brandon (Briana), Eryn (Eddie), and Zack (Anna); her bonus children Kristan (Damien), Stephanie (Bobby) and Angela (Tyler); her grandchildren Shawn, Jordan, Aydon, Lochlan, Dakota, Damien, Makayla, Mason, Teagan, Makenna, Lincoln and Kinley; her sisters Susan (Fred) and Becky. She was preceded in death by her father Tom, mother Marlene and brother Eddie.
You truly can never put into words a lifetime of memories, a lifetime of love, laughter, tears and dreams. We will always have Cheryl in our hearts and memories. Words of comfort for all of us are hard to find. The words to describe this feeling do not exist. We loved Cheryl with all our hearts, as she loved us with a love that was pure and knew no bounds. God is the one to give us peace, so have faith and know where she is now and that she is walking the “golden street.” There is wonderful rejoicing going on with all her loved ones that went before her. They were waiting for her with open arms on the shore of glory. We can all hope to one day meet Cheryl again when we too have our final breath.
For Cheryl, one celebration of life could never be enough. The family traveled to Florida, Kentucky, Missouri and Colorado to spread Cheryl’s ashes as was her wish. A formal Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of Christ at 8501 Euclid Ave, Kansas City, MO 64132 on Saturday January 29, 2022, at 4 pm, as well as one at the Valley Community Church at 4253 Mercantile St, Colorado City, CO 81019 on Saturday February 5, 2022, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has a gofundme set up for donations.
