PUEBLO SCHOOL DISTRICT 70
The Denver Broncos and Delta Dental of Colorado teamed up to honor teachers. Selected from District 70 were teachers Ethan Beeman, Katherine Dodge, Connor Pigg, and Stacie Snell.
The Touchdowns for Teachers is a program that recognizes local Most Valuable Teachers (MVTs).
The teachers are recognized for their community involvement, efforts to inspire students, and positive contributions to their respective schools.
Beeman, Dodge, and Pigg are teachers at Rye High School while Snell teaches at South Mesa Elementary School. The teachers are four of ten recipients selected statewide.
Beeman has been an agriculture teacher and adviser for Future Farmers of America at Rye for ten years.
He was nominated for the Touchdowns for Teachers award by Principal Michelle Madril and Craver Middle School teacher Ashley Tremain.
Dodge is also in her 10th year teaching at Rye and was nominated by Rye student Amelia Burbidge. Dodge teaches chemistry, anatomy, biology, and Environmental Science.
Pigg also was nominated by Burbidge. He is the school's head football coach, head boys track coach, and a student council sponsor, and teaches U.S. history, European History, government, economics, and world history.
Snell has given math curriculum training to new teachers for five years and is an instructional coach for South Mesa Elementary teachers. She was nominated by teaching partner Crystal Maez.
All nominees received a certificate of recognition from the Denver Broncos and Delta Dental of Colorado. The honorees were presented with a commemorative award, a Touchdowns for Teachers Swag Bag, and tickets to the Broncos game on January 8. They also received recognition on the Denver Broncos website at denverbroncos.com/community/ teachers.
