The Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Casino Night was great fun and they promise to bring it back next year.
Held Saturday, July 23, from 7-10 p.m. at the Colorado City Rec Center, the Casino night was not only a BOYB, guilt-free gambling night, but the Chamber also provided free babysitting and supervised swimming for kids 3-12. Snacks were provided, a food truck was on site, and Brad's LA Hot Dogs and goodies from Becky Russell Thompson at Tea Treats & Sweets were sold on site.
Although the games were real and the dealers were professionals, the real cash was spent to purchase funny money to gamble with. Participants had the chance to play blackjack, roulette, Texas Hold ‘em, or craps. Proceeds from the casino night went to the Greenhorn Valley Chamber of Commerce so that they can continue to bring such fun events to the community, distribute gift baskets to new residents, and promote local businesses.
Along with all their sponsors and volunteers, the Chamber board thanked Sherri Marquez of Sherri’s Blings and Things who printed all the signs for Casino Night and was credited with going way above and beyond to get them done in record time. Joshua Walker presented her with a basket of goodies from Becky Russell Thompson at Tea Treats & Sweets.
