50th anniversary photo – it’s the 1st time we made the centerfold, and then got front page for the Life Chain. Also thanks for the zoo news – I took three friends in Pueblo who had no idea it was happening!

More news on recreational opportunities and future planning of same. Bike trails, fishing, climbing – these will bring younger, healthier young Coloradoans to our area.

14. More library news. Local school news apart from sports. For example the music teacher’s attempt to form a marching band.

2. More about police and fire calls.

4. The fact that we have our own newspaper is amazing and rare, now – We are grateful for you and the folks who step up to help you cover the local goings on.

6. I think you are doing a great job, and I give you kudos for all of your upgrades to the paper and website.

8. Focus on special programs in our schools. We have good schools and need to show the opportunities our schools offer.

News items you would like us to look in to for publication:
1. Be sure to keep on top of the acquisition of the Post Office! The community needs to stay involved. And kudos to the new contractor – hope they keep up the good work.
2. Water conservation – zero scaping 3. Zoning issues in both Rye and Colorado City. The dangerous intersection at the rest area CDOT has created.
4. Possible interview principal at each of the 3 schools for monthly updates, what has happened in the last month; what is upcoming.
5. Interesting- Rye firefighters are reading to kids at Rye Elementary. Would be good photo op! 4th graders harvested grapes from Harley’s Greenhouse.
6. Please inform readers that a traveling vehicle on 165 with blinking light mean deer are crossing on highway ahead.
