Theresa Brooke Pagnotta Darcy was born on 10/16/1954, in Richmond, VA. Teri, Auntie Ter or just Ter, was a woman of remarkable intelligence, unwavering dedication, and profound love for her family. Her sharp mind and attention to detail made her a standout in the medical field and a perfect helpmate to her mother, Esther, who was unexpectedly widowed with nine children in 1974. Ter’s love for world travel and languages was sparked early when she visited Denmark as an exchange student at the age of 16. From there she went into medical transcription, assisting. doctors in three countries as she was fluent in Russian and German. She also obtained an LPN license but preferred transcription work. Another lifelong passion was Ter’s love for the Dark Shadows television series, which may have caused her to sneak away from school to watch. Ter put her whole heart and mind into everything, including her service in the United States Army, her valuable work in the medical field and love of family and her beloved mini dachshunds. Ter is preceded in death by her mother, Esther Pagnotta; father, Dr. Ralph Pagnotta; twin brothers, Robert and Joseph Pagnotta; also preceded in death by former husband, Mike Darcy, though they remained lifelong friends.
She is survived by eight siblings: Geoff (Sandy) Pagnotta, Maria (Danny) Davis, Greg Pagnotta, Rosanna Pagnotta, Ralph (Becky) Pagnotta, John (Shawn) Pagnotta, Melane (Mickey) Weldon, and Gunnison (Heather) Pagnotta, Diana Pagnotta and Jeff Quinn, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Theresa’s legacy is one of love and intellect.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her younger siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
