Old San Isabel Fire 100%

The Old San Isabel Fire has been declared 100% contained, however, the public may still see smoke coming from the center of the burn area for several days. The fire, which started at around 11 a.m. Monday, spread an additional 10 acres overnight Monday to a total of approximately 137 acres.

Wildlife Officer Introduces Himself to the Valley

I arrived back home in the Colorado City/ Rye district in April and, as expected, there was a learning curve regarding local wildlife management. Each district is different when examining its prominent wildlife conflicts.

The Switzerland of America

We have taken a Great Adventure trip to Ouray, Colorado, twice. The first time we made the 286-mile, six-hour trek from Colorado City was during the winter, a number of years ago. Ouray is located at an elevation of 7,792 feet (2,375 m), and experiences four distinct seasons.
