Rye Town Square Fair Packed the Street

The second annual Rye Town Square Fair was a little damp but oh, so much fun! Looking even bigger and better than last year's event, vendors, food trucks, bouncy houses, live music, Mr. Magic, and informative booths filled nearly every available space on both sides of Main Street.

Colorado City Swimming Pool Wraps Up the Season

Hats off and many thanks to the Colorado City Parks and Recreation crew as they more than successfully provided another round of entertainment for the community. The Colorado City swimming pool closed Saturday, August 5, leaving swimmers wishing for more.

Stop for the Buses When Lights are Flashing

The wheels on the bus go round and round as the big yellow school buses are hitting the roads again next week. Monday, August 14, is the first official day of school for Pueblo County School District 70. That means a lot of children will be lining up at bus stops across Pueblo County.

Chadwicks Head for Ministry in the Northwest

On August 19, pastors and delegates from 43 churches in Western Washington and Western Oregon will vote on a new Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) District Superintendent. The only name on that ballot is Table Mountain’s founding pastor, Rob Chadwick.

Two Dozen Fires are Being Watched in Colorado

Nearly two dozen wildfires are being watched in Colorado as of Monday evening but the majority are an acre or less and not indicating much likelihood of spreading. The largest active fire is the Lowline Fire 11.6 miles SSW of Crested Butte.

Is My Drinking Water Safe?

An all-to-common occurrence in annual reports dealing with water quality in the Colorado City/Rye area indicates that levels in the drinking water of Trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) that exceed the accepted state standards.
