Landmark Home Destroyed by Fire

A landmark home that perched on the hill west of Interstate 25 above the St. Charles River was destroyed by fire on the evening of Tuesday, February 11. The home was a total loss.Thankfully no lives were lost, but a family of four was displaced and a historic and sentimental home destroyed.

With the arrest of Jason Valdez and the subsequent charge of second- degree murder, we communicated with the Pueblo County Sheriff and found that there have been five murders in Colorado City/Rye area since 1993.
