The Southern Colorado Photography Society hosted the reception for its 2026 photo show and competition on Friday, January 16, after the reception was postponed from Friday, January 9, due to weather.The photo show, which is held annually, is displayed at the Rawlings Library on the second floor.

The Volunteers for Community (VFC) and Pueblo County partnership at the Susan Kalman Community Center bring valuable and informative programs to the Greenhorn Valley. The Lunch and Learn program for Tuesday, January 13, was a visit from Pueblo County Assessor Frank Beltran.

Metro Meeting Smooth Sailing

The first meeting of 2026 for the Colorado City Metro District (CCMD) was held on January 13 and, for the most part, was smooth sailing. Four of the members were present in person and one member of the board had an excused absence.

Three More Bodies Identified in Closed Davis Mortuary

Fifteen bodies remain unidentified in the forensic effort to give everyone closure in regard to the 24 total bodies found at Davis Mortuary in August 2025.The three most recent identifications were released in an update from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on January 13.
