The Jo Vigil Open meet gave the T-Bolts runners a good look at what State Competition will look like in October. The boys came up against 37 other schools and the girls ran against 32. “It is always great competition and gives us a chance to see a lot of the San Luis Valley teams,” TJ Blackhurst said.

Rye’s girls team finished this huge race in 19th place. “We’ve been working on running as a pack, but with that many runners it was tough to keep together,” said Blackhurst. Audrey Maroney finished at a faster pace than Rocky Ford with a time of 20:46.40. Clarissa Peterson came in at 23:50.70; Raechel Lopez, 25:27.30; Rebekah Moats, 25:59.80; Lauren Maroney, 26:40.50; Emily Peterson, 28:13.20; Christina Kirkland, 36:32.70
