The Rye baseball team is headed for post season play with a solid 18-2 five inning win in their final regular season action, downing Manitou Springs on the road.

The initial regional opponent for the Thunderbolts in post season will be the Buena Vista Demons (14-5). Greeley host school University Bulldogs (17-2) are top seeded for district play and will have a first round game with the Basalt Longhorns (10-7). The games will be Saturday in Greeley but the times have not been set. Head Coach Stacey Graham is guessing the University vs. Basalt game will be at 11:00 a.m. The Thunderbolts will face Buena Vista at 1:00 p.m. and the two winners will square off at 3:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Elite Eight.

“Manitou has a young team,” shared Graham. “They are still learning the game but they have some solid players and we played well.”
