Pueblo, CO: The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office has sent a Task Force made up of city and county fire agencies to the Waldo Canyon Fire currently burning in El Paso County.

The participating agencies are:

• Beulah Fire

• Boone Fire

• Pueblo Chemical Depot

• Pueblo City Fire

• Pueblo County Road and Bridge

• Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office

• Pueblo Rural Fire

• Pueblo West Fire

• Rye Fire

• West Park Fire

The local fire-fighters totaled 28 and each of the above agencies were represented. A total of 10 apparatus left Pueblo County just after 9:00 PM to caravan into El Paso County.

In addition to the men and women from all of these agencies who stayed behind to protect our community, the Transportation Technology Center Inc Fire Team has offered to assist in Pueblo County wherever needed until the Task Force returns.

“It is part of their professional character for responders to want to go do their part. They were all very anxious to get to the Waldo Canyon Fire. I want to thank each of them and their families. These are brave people and I fully support their efforts.” said Sheriff Kirk M. Taylor.
