The Greenhorn Valley Players present Aesop’s Foibles by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus. The play opens in 620 BC Greece with young Aesop (Joshua Simmons) explaining his problem of hearing a menageries of voices in his head, which come to life on stage. Only Aesop and the audience can see and hear them. Aesop’s parents (Mary Collins and Chris Donner) take him to the doctor (Chris Elliot), who is bent on sending him to the loony bin. Goddess Hera (Malinda Gookin) and her hen-packed husband Zeus (Brad Elliot) send the muse, Daphinity (Raven Langosh) down to help Aesop get the menagerie out of his head. This hilarious play offers clever dialog and uproarious twists, ending with a meaningful moral. Performance dates are June 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m., and a July 1 matinee at 2:30 p.m. at the Playhouse in Rye. Advanced tickets may be purchased from the cast and Rye Café. Reservations are welcome by calling 489-2099 or 489-2336.
