Since the Waldo Canyon fire erupted on Saturday the 23rd, I have been impressed with how well the local television stations—KOAA (5), KKTV (11) and KRDO (13)—have covered it. They have superseded virtually all of their network and local programming to provide up-to-the-minute coverage of the fire, and vital information on shelters, closings, weather, evacuations, road closings, etc.

These regional stations and their management have provided superb coverage of the threat, and should be commended for their coverage of it and their loss of, I am sure, much national and local advertising revenue. They have performed a true community service.
