Happy kids and parents have been enjoying the opening of the Colorado City Swimming Pool. Turnout has been great and everyone is having a fun time. Wednesdays are proving to be extremely popular with dollar day, and will be offered on Wednesdays throughout the season. Regular fare is $2.50 for all day and discount and season passes are available.

Swimming lessons began June 4th and run through August 2nd with four sessions being offered. Two choices of sessions are available, either 9:30 to 10:05 or 10:20 to 10:55 and run Monday through Thursday for two weeks.

Water aerobics are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30am, and an evening class Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Lap swimming is available Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00am and Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Gay Christie loves the aerobics class. She says, “You get out of it what you put into it. If you can’t participate to the full extent or pace that’s okay and you still get a benefit.” “Also, you don’t sweat!”

Open swim is from 12:00 -5:00pm daily Monday through Saturday. Pool parties are fun and available by calling 676-3059. Kaley Ragan, who graduated this spring from Rye High School and is one of three pool managers says, “A pool, music, friends, family and a ton of fun! Where can you go wrong?” For more information contact Parks and Rec at 676-3059, the Colorado City Pool at 676-3455 access the website at http://www.cocityparksandrec.com/swimming.htm
