District 70 officials worked through dozens of applications to replace retired Craver Middle School Principal Chuck Scott and chose Alexandra Weintraub for the position in the 2012-13 school year. The action took place at the regular board meeting on Tuesday, May 15.

Weintraub is currently an Assistant Director in Mapleton School District in north Denver. The Mapleton District is an academy focused school which includes grades seven through 12. A call to Weintraub was not returned prior to press time.

The district also approved a contract with Solstore to provide solar panel systems in a pair of district schools. It is estimated that about $5,600 in rebates will be received from Black Hills Energy.

The 100 kilowatt solar panel systems are expected to be installed and operational later this year.
