On arrival at the patio for coffee this morning, the breeze was just a little bit on the cool side. However, we all knew that wasn't going to last very long so we enjoyed it while we could. Millie got a little bit chilled, so she turned her chair around and sat out in the sun to get warm.

A small crowd came to enjoy coffee this morning. The first comment made was "What happened to the creek!!!" Not too long ago, you could almost raft in the creek and now you can walk across it and not get your ankles wet. The whole valley needs a good rain that will not just run off. About the only thing really gushing and flowing well at the Lodge is the nice fountain that you see as you first come into the driveway.

Gil & Petra Garcia came this morning, along with her Mom Millie. They said they are going to make a trip to Texas to see our friend Ingrid Koutu. Joyce provided a card for everyone to sign and Petra will take it to her.

If you didn't get to attend the Faith Circle dinner and auction at the Brush Canyon Ranch last Saturday, you missed a great time. Attendance was great. Had to laugh when Joyce Smith bought Gina Wiant's cakes and a cheese basket and then another sheet cake. Jake Norton, the auctioneer, called it the "diabetic table." And of course, Joyce was gracious enough to bring along a couple of the cakes for us all to sample this morning. Beautiful and delicious. What a good idea Joyce. Thank you from all of us.

Don't forget to attend the benefit for John MacMillan this Friday night at the Craver Middle School. The last news that I got was that the grafts were working and he was starting to heal somewhat. This will be a long process for him and I'm sure we all send our thoughts and prayers out to him and his family. There are different locations around to make donations for him also.

Betha Phillipps and her granddaughter Cassie Lenon joined us today. Although Betha has lived here for some time, this was her first trip to the coffee gathering. Come back again Betha and enjoy the morning with us at the Lodge.

I'm heading back down the mountain now, so I hope you all have a great week and come see what's going on in Rye next week. You just never know who you will see there or what news you will hear or even maybe learn some new things for yourself. 9:00 AM every Tuesday, now matter the weather.
