Rye High School’s graduation rate fell slightly to 87.8% from their 90.3% mark in 2017 according to figures released recently. That rate is well above the state mark of 80.7% but on the low end of the four D70 schools which came in with a combined graduation rate of 89.2%.

Swallow’s Charter Academy had the highest graduation rate in the district at 97%, down from their perfect 100% graduation rate in 2017. Pueblo West’s graduation rate moved up to 94.6% an improvement over their 90.5% rate in 2017.

Pueblo County also improved over their 2017 graduation rate of 86.2% to 89.6%. 70 online was up to 57.6% from 32.1% in 2017.

The D70 graduation rate in 2014 was 71.8% and has improved dramatically since then. Of course, as the graduation rate gets higher the drop-out rate goes down. This year while the state dropout rate was at 2.2% the District 70 dropout rate was 0.8%.
