On Wednesday, documents were signed for the sale of Moore’s Valley Auto, ending a family business that began in 1970 at the Colorado City Conoco and Travel Shoppe on the interstate. Bruce and Doug Moore sold the business to Jim and Lisa Klipfel, owners of Mountain Disposal.

The Moore family, who arrived from Illinois in 1970, moved their station to its current location in 1985 and it has been there ever since.

“It has been our good fortune to be a part of the community for so many years,”

commented Moore. “We have wonderful customers, who have been with us throughout

the years. But it’s time to go. We hope each and every one of them knows how much

they have meant to us.”
