One of the most common practices about this time of year is the making of New Year’s resolutions. According to the Internet, the ancient Babylonians were the first to make resolutions, some 4,000 years ago. They were also the first to celebrate the arrival of the new year with the planting of crops in mid-March as opposed to the first of January. 69% of resolutions are related to fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and weight loss. Only about 8% of us will maintain the resolution during the coming year.

Just when keeping that resolution begins to get really tough, Pueblo City/County Library District announces the presentation of “Forks over Knives,” a documentary film tracing the personal journeys of pioneering, yet under appreciated, researchers Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. The presentation, scheduled to be shown at the Greenhorn Valley Branch at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 29th, will be attended by Parkview Mobile Nurses certified in plant based diets.
